Donetsk Region Ready to Meet Investors. Over 300 investment projects already submitted for the Annual International Investment Summit of Donetsk Region scheduled for October 29-31, 2008

24 September, Kyiv-Donetsk – The organizers of Donbass Investment Destination, the Annual International Investment Summit of Donetsk Region, have selected over 300 projects seeking foreign investment at what is expected to be the largest event of its type in Ukraine. However, this is just the beginning of the regional investment boom, claim the organizers.
«All across the Region we are preparing now to showcase our capabilities and opportunities to both international and Ukrainian guests at the October Summit. From Svyatohorsk to Mariupol, business plans and presentations are being drafted and negotiations with partnering consulting companies are underway. The Summit is not a one-off event, but the start of a strategic plan to encourage international and domestic investment to the region. We’ll pursue this course before and after the Investment Summit-08, as increasing investment in the region is the number one priority», - said Anatoly Blyznyuk, Head of the Donetsk Regional Council.
Projects from across the Donetsk Oblast have been selected from three areas that have been defined by the Summit organizers as the top priorities for attracting investment to boost the region’s social and economical development. The priority areas are: Real Estate and Infrastructure (including Euro-2012), Investments in to Real Sector of Donbass, and Innovations and Energy-saving Technologies. Each area will be the focus of a specific section of the Summit’s programme and will be organized by a leading international and national investment, financial management and business consulting company – Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Altera Finance.
“It is extremely important that respected international business and management firms such as Deloitte and Ernst & Young, as well as Altera Finance from Ukraine, have developed the summit programme, will provide advice for those presenting investment projects and ultimately use their expertise to select the best investment projects to be showcased”, - said Jock Mendoza-Wilson, Director of International and Investor Relations of SCM, one of the Summit partners. - “SCM as a professional investor and the leading investor in Ukraine fully supports the Summit concept. According to the Summit organizers, the project profiles submitted by Donetsk region enterprises vary in the level of details, but practically all feature business plans and basic financial indexes according to the international standard formats developed by Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Altera Finance. The organizers continue to accept and process project profiles and business plans and estimate that, by the time of the Summit opens, the number of projects presented could potentially double.
